SMOKING EMBERS MARTEANI
Showing our hot, burning, support for the UK, it’s our Smoking Embers Marteani! We heard that James Newman enjoys a nice cuppa, so here’s the Mission Eurovision twist for 2021.
Not gonna lie, this is very strong and very dry. We love it, it’s like an Old Fashioned, but if it’s a bit much for you we suggest adding a half measure of simple syrup, and/or using sweet vermouth instead of dry.
STRENGTH: 5/5 | SWEETNESS: 1/5 | DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM
ingredients
PREP
- Vodka
- Lapsang souchong tea bags
TO MAKE THE COCKTAIL
- 2 measures tea infused vodka
- 1 measure dry vermouth
- Ice
TO SERVE
- Martini glass
- Dried orange slice
METHOD
1. PREP THE VODKA!
Put the vodka in a jar or other sealable container, and add the tea bags. We used about 500ml of vodka and three tea bags, this gave a really good smoky flavour, but play about with either ingredient to get the taste that you like! Leave to infuse for four hours.
2. COCKTAIL!
Half fill your cocktail shaker with ice then add other ingredients
3.
SHAKE!
4.
Strain and serve into a martini glass
5.
We had some dried orange slices in the cupboard so garnished our marteani with that. You could try some orange peel, or a toasted marshmallow would be lovely!
