The Crocktail
Croatia’s first ever national cocktail, the CROcktail, is a celebration of summer cherries. This cocktail features Maraschino, a liqueur made from the sour maraska cherry that’s native to Croatia. The liqueur has been produced in the city of Zadar for over 500 years and has an almond-like taste from the use of the cherry pits in the distillation process.
Combined with the lemon and cherry juices, this is a hit of heaven!
WE MADE THIS!
Recipe originally published 01/05/2016
This cocktail has been on our website for years under the name ‘Jesen Zima Proljeće/Autumn Winter Spring’. We had some slight translation confusion, but the cocktail creator Marin Nekić suggested different ingredients for each season: tangerine juice in autumn, dried figs in winter, and basil in spring. This cherry version is the OG summer CROcktail.
Anyway, this is dangerously delicious! So delicious, we got carried away and forgot to add the cherry garnish for our photo.
