The Brandy Sour is believed to have been created in the late 19th or early 20th century by a bartender named Haralambos (Bambos) Yiannouzis, who worked at the Forest Park Hotel in the town of Limassol. The original recipe called for Cyprus brandy, which was a popular local spirit made from the Xynisteri grape.
